Committees are where the work gets done in the chapter!

DAR has over 40 different committees focused on our goals of education, historic preservations, and patriotism. With many committees to choose from, each chapter can focus and work on the ones that best serve the community.

America 250!: Commitment to increase DAR worldwide membership to include an additional 250,000 members.
Legare. We provided many board games for downtime at sea or port. We send cards for special times during the year.
DAR Service for Veterans: All veteran related volunteer work; supporting our local V.A. Hospitals and projects.
- Chapter daughters are working on a patriot trees that can be distributed throughout the community to increase the visibility and importance of DAR.
- The Chapter planted a tree within the City of Yakima to celebrate Arbor Day.
- Our chapter collected crayons with a popular crayon drive, and distributed them to schools across the Valley.
- We are partnering with Davis High School to create a bulletin board about the importance of the constitution.
- Our chapter routinely has a high number of members with subscription.
- Every year, our chapter selects an incredible student and honors their commitment to patriotism.

- Our chapter routinely participates in Wreaths Across America, where wreaths are placed for veterans at Tahoma Cetetary on Veteran's Day.
- During October, our chapter collects and distributes clothing for veterans and their families during Stand Down, an annual event offering free items and services in honor of their service to our country.
